The Georgia Council for the Arts Teaching Artists Registry is designed to serve as a resource list of Georgia artists who are skilled in one or more artistic disciplines and experienced in a classroom setting. It is a listing of competitively evaluated professionals who are available to deliver performances, workshops, and/or residencies to nonprofit organizations, community arts councils, schools, and school systems. The Registry is also available to the members of the general public seeking recommendations and guidance for arts education programs.
In an effort to provide up-to-date resources to schools and organizations, and to help promote the work of our state’s best teaching artists, Georgia Council for the Arts has updated the Georgia Teaching Artists Registry. Including 49 qualified teaching artists from throughout Georgia, the registry features artists who have a combination of extensive training and experience in their field, are available to work in schools and at organizations serving K-12 students around the state, and have passed a background check to work in a school environment. The updated Georgia Teaching Artists Registry is now available on the GCA website. If you have questions about the Registry, please reach out to Allen Bell, Arts Education Manager, at email@example.com.
Georgia Council for the Arts will continue to update and expand the Georgia Teaching Artists Registry in 2018. Qualified teaching artists must be a resident of Georgia, must have a combination of training in their field and experience in educational settings, and must pass a background check. New teaching artists added to the registry will be announced in the fall of 2018. The Teaching Artists Registry application form for artists to be added in 2019 will be available online later this year. If you have questions about the Registry, the application, or the selection process, please reach out to Allen Bell, Arts Education Manager, at 404-962-4839 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
